EPDM membrane installation
The EPDM membrane is composed of ethylene, propylene, diene and monomer. It is comparable to the TPO membrane in terms of installation techniques. The only difference between them is that their joints are not made in the same way, that is, by thermofusion. Instead, the seals are sealed with adhesive tape or contact glue.
The advantages of the EPDM membrane
- High elasticity and flexibility that reduces the risk of tears or cracks;
- Requires little maintenance, except occasional repair of rubber membrane seals;
- Resistance to ultraviolet rays, steam, temperature fluctuations and fire;
- An excellent long-term investment that also lowers heating costs and reduces energy consumption.
When installed to standards, EPDM rubber coatings are a durable, weatherproof and easy-to-maintain option.
